For this Weekend, we have lots of informative Articles coming, and some Movies we would like to recommend for you to watch this Weekend whenever you have some time.
Yesterday, Michael guided me to the Josephine Baker Story, a Movie about her life from 1991, and he said “leave it open and pause, then watch later in evening”. So, I did that, and in the evening after finishing all my daily tasks for the day, I relaxed and watched it.
I could barely look away or go grab a glass of water, it was so interesting.
Here is some general summary of who Josephine Baker is.
Josephine Baker (born Freda Josephine McDonald; 3 June 1906 – 12 April 1975) was a French dancer, jazz and pop music singer, and actress, who came to be known in various circles as the “Black Pearl”, “Bronze Venus” “Jazz Queen”, and even the “Creole Goddess”. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she renounced her U.S. citizenship to become a citizen of France in 1937. She was fluent in both English and French.
She was the first black woman to star in a major motion picture, Zouzou (1934), and to become a world-famous entertainer. Baker refused to perform for segregated audiences in the United States and is noted for her contributions to the Civil Rights Movement. In 1968 she was offered unofficial leadership in the movement in the United States by Coretta Scott King, following Martin Luther King, Jr.‘s assassination. Baker declined the offer.
She was also known for assisting the French Resistance during World War II, and received the French military honor, the Croix de guerre and was made a Chevalier of the Légion d’honneur by General Charles de Gaulle.

And you know what I thought first, as I looked her Photos up before beginning to watch the Movie? She looks like the original Banana Girl from “Chiquita”, maybe she inspired the Art Design of this famous Logo.
Anyways, let us get to the current Theme for this 2016 THRILLER-HALLOWEEN October Month, again: Witch Craft and Witch Hunts in Europe back in the day.
As I am watching the Movie, enjoying her unique life story, this scene comes on as they show how she was touring Europe and “conquering hearts” here so to speak.
Do you see this? I was surprised, it came out of nowhere. But now it made perfect sense why Michael thought it is good for me to watch this Movie and check her Story NOW.
In the movie they then showed people in Vienna seemingly demonstrating against her arrival as she arrived there for her Show Tour. Some Guy seen first in the front is dressed up as a Werewolf. I couldn’t believe it.
Then, in German inside the English produced Movie, those people holding up signs saying:”Go back to Africa”.
So, there was literal moments of “Witch Hunts” against Josephine Baker, and that in the 1900s, not 1700s.
I told you, Witch Hunts still exist, just in different, more subtle ways often, but still the same core behind it.
It is important to raise awareness.
About Josephine Baker’s Story: Her Vision and Challenges ©
I tuned in very fast to her Soul, and I felt a lot of resonance regarding certain things she did and had.
Such as the Castle in France in which she lived, her Experiences with white Men interested in affairs and such, but not to marry her, and then she finds the Good Guys; the Italian Pepito Albertino, and later on French composer and conductor Jo Bouillon.
She had initially a Husband back, William Howard Baker, in the States when she lived there, from him she got and kept the Name “Baker”, similar to Tina Turner as well. Her real Name was Freda Josephine McDonald.
Surprisingly, at the time there where a lot of Racism problems in America still, and groups of white People attacking Black people, houses, and neighbourhoods, lynching and killing innocent Black people.
When Josephine moved to Europe, to France, things were totally different for her. In Paris, she felt “at home”, like a second real home. She was treated normal there, like a human being, not “a skin colour”.
She then met this French Painter and Artist first, and the scene shown in the Movie is beautiful, how he, as a white Man, looks different at her, seeing her Beauty.
You may read more on her facts and life story details here in the link below.
Official Josephine Baker Website:
Later on, she went ahead and adopted Children from all over the World, from different Races and Cultures, Black, Blonde, Asian, and she called that “her Rainbow Family”.
These are the things I feel so much resonance with. The Children from all over the World, the Racism, the homely feeling in Europe, being originally from Africa, and her strong Personality and Soul. The “Witch Declaration” in Vienna was a result of simply, some human beings fearing the Unknown, and “different seemingly”. The whole powerful Woman, and also the sexual attraction magic emanated.
I am Egyptian, born and raised in Europe and can relate to her life experiences deeply.
I am not sure if you know this.
Michael Jackson originally planned to adopt two Children from each Continent in the World, a Boy and a Girl.
And you know the did the whole GHOSTS Movie Project, featuring a European Castle-like location, called “Someplace Else”.
Not only was she an Entertainer and Artist that fought for equality internationally, but she also joined the Resistance against Hitler back then and proved a lot of courage.
This is though a much more deep topic, to be discussed for the DANGEROUS KNOWLEDGE Series, later on this year.
Stay tuned for the next Articles for this Weekend!
